Barbados is blessed with white sand beaches, beautiful gardens, hills and gullies and historic sites. Whether you are looking to relax and recharge or explore some of the culture and history of the island, Barbados has it all. The island itself offers challenging biking, exhilarating hiking, horse racing, polo, cricket, and golf. There are wonderful cultural events, especially during Crop Over, and great music festivals. Above and below the waves there is sailing, surfing, snorkelling and scuba. There is always something going on!
Activities
Combining the island's thriving sugar cane industry and Jacobean architecture, St. Nicholas Abbey provides visitors the opportunity to admire the unique features of the mansion and the fully operational steam mill and rum distillery. Visitors can also tour the plantation on an authentic Victorian steam train.
Located under the cliffs of North Point, St Lucy, the Animal Flower Cave is the island's lone accessible sea cave. The cave is home to sea anemones, which appear to be in bloom underwater but behave like an animal. In the final chamber, guests can swim in the 8 ft natural rock pool.
Catamaran Cruises
Experience the breathtaking coastline of Barbados from the water on a day sail or a sunset cruise up the West Coast. The sail typically includes short stops along the coast to explore a ship wreck, snorkel with sea turtles and enjoy a bite to eat and the open bar.
East Coast and Bathsheba
A trip over to the east coast provides breathtaking views of the rugged coastline from the heights of Cherry Tree Hill. The harsh Atlantic waves crash onto the shores of Bathsheba at the Soup Bol providing one of the world's best surfing destinations. On shore there is great dining, hiking and soaking up the sun in the shallow tidal pools along the shoreline.
